What is The 2.5 Layer Forming Fabric?

The 2.5 layer forming fabric features a dual-layer composite structure, positioning it between a standard double layer and a triple layer SSB (self-supporting bonded) forming fabric. It is based on a two layer mesh and optimized to make its performance approach that of a triple layer mesh. It improves fiber retention and dehydration performance, providing better support for fine fibers.

2.5 Layer Forming Fabric Structure

The 2.5 layer forming fabric is designed with fiber retention rate in mind. By adding transverse braiding lines to the top of the double layer net, the distance between the braiding lines and the top yarn is reduced, improving fiber retention and maintaining the original dewatering performance.

2.5 Layer Forming Fabric Dewatering Principle

After the pulp suspension is applied to the forming fabric, it is first dewatered through the fine top mesh, and the fine fibers are effectively retained on the forming fabric. Then the water is discharged through the “channel” formed by the interweaving of the warp yarns and the upper and lower weft yarns, achieving the unity of efficient dewatering and good fiber retention.
