The selection of press felt must be based on various technical parameters and production environment of the paper machine to choose the product name, weight, breathability, thickness, and raw material origin of the matching paper felt. Paper Sheets Breaks Due to Wear and Tear of Paper Making Felts

The wear of paper making felts can be divided into two types: uniform wear and localized wear.

The reasons for the wear of the felt include: replacement of the vacuum box panel, insufficient needle tightness of the felt, light shaping, excessive vacuum, lack of lubricating water between the felt and the vacuum panel, improper selection of vacuum panel material, high friction coefficient, and later use of the felt. Measures should be taken to address the different reasons mentioned above.

Paper Sheet Breaks Caused by Poor Operation of Felt

The operating status of paper making felts mainly includes: the tension state of the felts; The horizontal contraction state of the felt; The standard line of the felt is in a straight state; The surface of the felt is flat, etc. Insufficient tension of the felt, excessive lateral shrinkage, air leakage from the vacuum suction box, deformation and bending of the felt standard line, and uneven tension of the felt bottom fabric can all easily lead to uneven dehydration of wet paper sheets and result in crushing.
